“Be Near Me” at the Donmar Warehouse

Sister Sarah and I went to see the show “Be Near Me” at the Donmar Warehouse in London last week, on opening night. I really didn’t understand what this show, by the celebrated National Theatre of Scotland, was about. I suspect that it would say more to Scottish citizens than it would to English theatregoers, and although I did leave in the interval, I now regret that decision. The acting and staging were excellent, but the dramatisation of the book by Andrew O’Hagan had its flaws and didn’t spark my interest. Never mind.
